(TWITTER) – Recently: Dr. Devi Sridhar, Professor and Chair of Global Public Health at the Edinburg University Medical School point on Twitter that perhaps out of this crisis, society may recognize the value of healthcare staff and essential workers. In particular, the recognition that many of our nurses, doctors, and essential workers at large are immigrants.

In response, Chelsea Clinton emphasized that as of January of 2020, 46% of MDs are immigrants and 55% of nurses are immigrants. 72% of nursing, psychiatric, and home health aids are immigrants too. We cannot forget that among our healthcare professionals taking care of 100% of the population, many are immigrants.
