Diagnosis: Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans.
Key Points: Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is an extremely rare skin cancer that originates from connective tissue cells in the middle (dermis) layer of skin. Initial presentation: Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans usually appears as initially as a bruise or scar. As it progresses in extent, there are clusters and lumps of tissue (protuberans) that form and can occur in the arms, legs, and trunk. This type of malignancy rarely spreads and metastasizes.
