Diagnosis: Proptosis (CT)

Key Points and Findings: Proptosis is the abnormal protrusion of the globe that can be seen in the setting of hyperthyroidism, retrobulbar hematoma, inflammatory conditions, pseudotumors, or malignancy. Exophthalmos is the abnormal prominence of the globe. On imaging, proptosis is best evaluated at a level of the lens on axial images. A line connecting the most distal aspect of the lateral orbital walls is illustrated.
