Luxatio Erecta – Xray

Luxatio Erecta, otherwise more known as an inferior shoulder dislocation is one of the least common forms of shoulder dislocation. The condition as seen via a frontal radiograph best is called luxatio erecta because the humerus and arm appears to be permanently held upward, usually in fixed abduction. In the emergency room, one may often find the patient with hand stuck on the head or nearby.
