Congratulations Dr. Elizabeth Morris MD who has been appointed chair of the UC Davis School of Medicine, Department of Radiology as of January 2021.
Dr. Morris is a world renowned leader in numerous areas of radiology research including the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to detect breast cancer early when they are treatable with maximal positive outcomes. Dr. Morris is an internationally recognized expert in breast cancer and use of MRI. She is also the author of numerous publications, research papers, and textbooks.
According to UC Davis Dean, Allison Brashear has commented: “Morris is a pioneer in high-risk breast cancer screening. With her intellectual force and passion for innovation, we’re confident she will lead the Department of Radiology into the next era in MRI, ultrasound, contrast-enhanced digital mammography, and tomosynthesis—all of which will ensure UC Davis Health patients get the most advanced care.”
Dr. Morris was most recently the Chief of Breast Imaging at MSKCC in NY. She was also full professor of radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College of NY Presbyterian Medical Center. She previously received her MD degree from UCSF and trained as a radiology resident at Cornell and completed her fellowship at MSKCC.
